Amii is pleased to announce a partnership with ZeroSound, a noise suppression company based in Calgary. The project objective is to address noise pollution challenges by leveraging Amii’s leading AI expertise and talent with ZeroSound’s refined algorithms. The collaboration aims to bring the best in AI and sound engineering to develop innovative solutions for noise suppression and mitigation in complex environments.
The project will integrate reinforcement learning algorithms with audio and sound engineering components to analyze audio data and facilitate real-time monitoring and management of noise levels in complex environments.
“We're excited to work with ZeroSound to address the critical challenge of industrial noise suppression,” said Stephanie Enders, Chief Delivery Officer. “By combining reinforcement learning with physics-based modeling and signal processing, we aim to develop a comprehensive approach that advances noise mitigation technology and alleviates the myriad of health, economic and environmental stressors caused by noise pollution.”
According to the World Health Organization, noise pollution is increasingly becoming a global issue that impacts millions of people who are exposed to loud sounds in daily life. Studies show that prolonged exposure to high levels of noise can cause hearing impairment, hypertension, sleep disturbances, and heart disease.
“We’re excited to be working with the Amii team on this groundbreaking project,” said Norm Bogner, CEO & Co-founder of ZeroSound. “Leveraging the power of our proprietary algorithms with reinforcement learning will allow ZeroSound to be even better positioned to address the complex global demands for noise pollution reduction.”
This collaboration will leverage the recent announcement of a $3M investment to accelerate AI adoption in the prairie provinces from PrairiesCan to support 30 small and medium-sized businesses based in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba over the next three years. The funding will empower Canadian companies to embark on or accelerate their AI adoption journeys, driving innovation and growth in the Prairie region.
