Hi there,
We’re kicking off spring with some exciting news!
Applications are now open for the CIFAR Deep Learning + Reinforcement Learning Summer School (DLRL), which is happening right here at Amii this year!
Whether you’re looking to deepen your knowledge, build new skills, or connect with top researchers and industry professionals, DLRL Summer School offers an unmatched experience. This year's instructors include Amii Fellow & Canada CIFAR AI Chair Martha White and Amii Chief Scientific Advisor Richard S. Sutton—who recently won the Turing Award for his work building the foundations of RL. Make sure to get your applications in before April 15.
In other exciting news, Canada CIFAR AI Chair Mark Schmidt has been awarded a prestigious Dorothy Killam Fellowship!
It’s a well-earned recognition of the impact Mark has made in computing science. His research on optimizing hyperparameters is helping make the core building blocks of machine learning faster and more efficient — work that could be a game-changer for how we use AI. Congratulations, Mark!
And don’t forget — Upper Bound is just a couple of months away. If you’re planning to come and haven’t grabbed your pass yet, you can save $100 with my code: SAVE100 (valid until March 31, 2025).
See you soon,
