For the environment. For sustainability. For our future. What will you build AI for?
CIFAR, OSMO and Amii have partnered to present AI4Good Lab in Edmonton for the second year. Running May 2 – June 21, this seven-week program is designed to prepare participants with the necessary skills to build their own machine learning projects, while offering an unmatched opportunity for mentorship and career exploration.
“We are thrilled to welcome back the lab after seeing so many incredible AI projects developed, and strong relationships formed within the cohort and our community of TAs, presenters, and sponsor companies,” says Warren Johnston, Amii’s Product Owner - Talent.
“The lab presents an incredible opportunity to connect emerging AI talent into the Alberta ecosystem - since last year, we’ve seen alumni go on to participate in Edmonton-based accelerator programs and even take on a full-time ML Scientist role based in Alberta!”
This year’s cohort will welcome 30 individuals from across Canada to gain technical skills and hands-on experience in AI.
What’s in the program
Instructors and mentors are experts in their respective fields – from academia to industry to social good.
The first four weeks of the program comprise lectures, workshops, and a mixture of hands-on exercises and skill-based tutorials.
Participants will group together for team projects in the final three weeks, with the support and mentorship of experts, and weekly social and networking opportunities.
Following the program, participants will have access to exclusive opportunities, growth initiatives, community and more. The initiative is committed to supporting growth in alums.
“The AI4Good Lab is a fantastic initiative with a proven record of empowering women in tech and working toward a more inclusive tech culture, and Amii is excited to work with the Edmonton cohort and offer our expertise to this next generation of AI scientists.”
Cam Linke, Amii CEO
