As a Machine Learning Scientist on Amii's Advanced Tech team, Soumik Farhan explores cutting-edge developments in machine learning. His primary interests lie in natural language processing (NLP) and the innovative application of large language models (LLMs). Specifically, he is keen on understanding the capabilities and limitations of current models, exploring their potential for complex problem-solving, and considering pathways for their responsible and beneficial deployment.

He previously gained experience as an ML Resident at Amii and as an ML Engineer at Sunnybrook Research Institute. Soumik's Master's in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Manitoba provided a unique perspective, involving the application of deep learning to computational neuroscience to analyze brain connectivity patterns.

In his free time, Soumik is an avid hiker, explorer, and music enthusiast, sometimes enjoying all three simultaneously.
