Machine Learning Technician scholarships help workers prepare for careers in AI

Full scholarships are being offered to individuals underrepresented in STEM

Amii is offering 20 full scholarships for our Winter 2022 cohort of the Machine Learning Technician Certification. The nine-week program empowers participants to gain new skills and abilities toward technical careers in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. ​​

The scholarships will cover the full cost of registration with a focus on giving access to individuals who are typically underrepresented in STEM fields, who are recent immigrants to Canada or who live in rural settings. These scholarships are available in the Winter 2022 cohort, which takes place live online from February 1 to April 1, 2022.

Course Schedule:

• Tuesdays – 5:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. MST
• Thursdays – 5:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. MST
• Fridays – 1:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M. MST

Time Commitment:

• 12-14 hours per week total
• Live Online Instruction: 7.5 hrs (2.5 hrs x 3 times) per week
• Collaborative hands-on work: 5-7.5 hrs per week
• Participants are required to contribute to group work in order to earn a certificate

Gain the technical skills you need to succeed in a career in AI

The course develops your machine learning knowledge and skills in order to define and execute a machine learning project that supports an organization’s business priorities.

What you learn in this course will take you from the brainstorming phase of a business idea to the identification of the right data and the execution and evaluation of the right model. We will accomplish this with multiple model implementations that culminate in the delivery of your group’s course project.

You’ll graduate from the course with:

• A foundational, science-based understanding of machine learning;
• The skills to confidently create a business case for an ML project at your company;
• The ability to undertake an ML project or apply for a job with AI/ML requirements;
• Experience with all stages of a machine learning project.
