Title: AI – An Industrial Roller Coaster Ride
Abstract: In this seminar, we will introduce our Data & Analytics practice at DevFacto Technologies. We will share experience and stories surrounding the three pillars in this practice, namely Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data Management, with a focus on what it takes to bring an AI project from vision to life. Finally, we will show a demo on building an end-to-end machine learning workflow using the Microsoft Azure machine learning and Azure DevOps.
Bios: Shanny Lu is a Unit Manager and an experienced Data & Analytics Consultant in DevFacto. She gained her Master's degree in Computing Science at the University of Alberta. She has gained 15+ years of industrial and academic experience in the domains of data engineering, full-stack software development and Artificial Intelligence study. Hongbiao Tao is a Senior Analytics Consultant in DevFacto. He received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has a background in computational modelling and simulation, and has experience in successfully deploying machine learning models to production.
