Senior Research Scientist, DeepMind
Adam White is a Senior Research Scientist at DeepMind and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Sciences at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Science – Computing Science.
DeepMind chose Edmonton to set up its first international research lab outside of the UK. DeepMind is a world leader in artificial intelligence research, focusing on how technology can make a positive impact. Backed by some of the most successful technology entrepreneurs in the world, DeepMind is using AI to solve complex problems like climate change, while looking at solutions for daily challenges in fields like healthcare.
President & CEO, Williams Engineering Canada | Board Chair, Innovate Edmonton
Naseem is the President and CEO of Williams Engineering Canada and Chairman of the Board for the Williams Group of Companies. He is also the recently appointed Board Chair for the newly formed Innovate Edmonton.
Williams Engineering is an industry leader in multi-discipline engineering consulting solutions. They have partnered with AltaML, an applied artificial intelligence and machine learning product company, also based in Edmonton, to build ML applications for the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.
Naseem will share some of the successes that Williams Engineering has experienced through AI adoption and how these tools have the capacity to positively impact the AEC industry and other professional service organizations.
Director of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, TELUS
Ryan is the Director of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer of Telus. He is a thought leader that drives strategic partnerships through grassroots innovation. His primary focus is on early development opportunities around 5G and Smart X, which pulls on his extensive engineering and military background. Ryan’s key areas of expertise are video, analytics, Internet of Things and 5G that can be seen through his successful collaborations with law enforcement and all levels of government.
