Javier Sales-Ortiz is an ML Educator on the Training team at Amii. He comes to Amii from Mexican startup Intelimetrica, where he worked as a Data Scientist, adding ML features to a commercial vehicle monitoring platform. He also worked as a Data Scientist at Management Solutions, where he implemented credit default prediction models for a multinational banking firm.
Javier earned his MSc in Computing Science at the University of Alberta, where he published research on Reinforcement Learning applied to EV charging, and his Bachelors in Mechatronics Engineering from Iberoamerican University, where he published research on vision-based mobile robotics. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, mountain biking, and reading sci-fi.
