Anindita Kundu (she/her) is a Machine Learning Resident with the Advanced Technology team at Amii. She is working with Pipikwan Pêhtâkwan on wâsikan kisewâtisiwin, their new AI tool that aims to address unconscious bias, hate speech, and racism towards Indigenous Peoples through the use of machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP).
Anindita completed her MSc in Computing Science at the University of Alberta under the supervision of Denilson Barbosa. Her research leveraged NLP techniques and large language models (LLMs) to enhance the performance of automatic essay scoring (AES) systems. Prior to this, Anindita worked as a Lecturer in Bangladesh, where she also earned her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
In her spare time, Anindita loves dancing, travelling, cooking, going for walks, and listening to music, particularly Rabindra Sangeet (Bengali music). She also enjoys organizing and decorating her home.
