Andy Patterson

Machine Learning Research Engineer

Andy Patterson is a Machine Learning Research Engineer. Within his role, he helps optimize Amii's use of compute resources, develops tools and educational material to teach Amii staff and researchers computational best practices, and develops automated pipelines for scientifically evaluating ML methods and learning models.

Andy earned his PhD in Statistical Machine Learning from the University of Alberta under the supervision of Martha White. Previously, he was a Senior Software Engineer at Genesys. In his free time, he enjoys playing board games and a variety of musical instruments, kayaking in the river valley, and experimenting with home automation and self-hosting.
